Petronet LNG rallies on strong volumes

Petronet LNG jumped over 8 per cent from its previous close of Rs 47.05 to Rs 52.50, and settled for a close at Rs 50.85. Over 9.4 million shares were traded on the counter. The stock has been rallying for the past one week, gaining 13.5 per cent. The company reported a 22 per cent volume growth in the fourth quarter of FY07, along with a 63 per cent growth in operating income to Rs 1,538.3 crore over the same period last year. It also recommended 12.5 per cent dividend, amounting to Rs 1.25 per share for FY07.
